Sharing apps is one of the easiest ways to collaborate in Octoparse AI. Whether you’re working with teammates, delivering an app to users, or reaching out to the Support team for troubleshooting, Octoparse AI offers flexible ways to share—and equally simple ways for recipients to get the app.

Sharing roles and permissions
All Octoparse AI users can share apps. The difference lies in what options you have when sharing. Depending on your role, the sharing interface and available settings vary:
Regular users can quickly share an app they’ve built, either through a link or by specifying another account. This is perfect for lightweight collaboration. Regular users can either share an app via link or specify a recipient.
Certified developers can release an app before sharing it, and also set advanced options like usage permissions or expiration dates. This gives developers more control over how their work is distributed.
Set permissions:
Can run — Recipients can run the app but cannot view or edit the workflow.
Editor — Recipients can run and edit the app.
Share Copy — Recipients receive a separate copy that they can edit, run, or re-share independently.
Set an expiration date: The shared app link can expire after a chosen time for extra control.
Choose a sharing method: Just like regular users, certified developers can choose between link or account sharing.
How the recipient receives an app
No matter who shared the app with you, the receiving experience is always straightforward. There are two main ways you’ll come across a shared app:
Link Sharing
If someone shares an app via link, you’ll receive a URL. Open the link in your browser and click Get App.
Your browser will ask permission to open the Octoparse AI client. Once confirmed, the app will be automatically added to your My Apps list. You’ll also see a confirmation popup in the client.
Account Sharing
If someone shares directly to your account, you don’t need to do anything at all. The app will simply appear in your My Apps list.
Important Notes and Limitations
There are a few restrictions worth keeping in mind:
Organization space apps: If your app was created in an Organization space, it cannot be shared outside of that space for security reasons. Instead, invite collaborators into your organization so you can work together inside the workspace
No secondary sharing: Apps shared by certified developers cannot be re-shared by recipients if they receive “run only” or “editable” access. However, if the developer shares a copy, recipients can re-share that copy. This keeps the original app safe, while still letting recipients share and work on copies if needed.
