AI Copilot is your personal automation assistant inside Octoparse AI. It helps you build ready-to-run RPA workflows by simply describing what you want to automate — no coding or drag-and-drop configuration required.
Whether you’re new to RPA or an experienced user, AI Copilot helps you turn your ideas into functional automation within minutes. Just type your request in plain language, and the AI will generate the entire workflow, test it automatically, and let you refine it through natural conversation.
Why Use AI Copilot
Think of AI Copilot as your intelligent assistant for automation.
It understands your intent, generates the right steps, and even test-runs them for you. You don’t need to be a technical expert — just describe what you need in plain English.
This means:
You can build workflows faster, without starting from scratch.
You can learn by example, seeing how AI translates your ideas into actions.
You can iterate naturally, refining the process through conversation.
What You Can Automate with AI Copilot
AI Copilot currently supports a wide range of RPA scenarios powered by its command library:
Web automation: open websites, click elements, input text, extract data.
Excel automation: open or create workbooks, read/write cells, and organize tables.
File & system operations: manage files, send HTTP requests, copy/paste data, etc.
Data processing: handle JSON, strings, regex, collections, and data tables.
Note: AI Copilot focuses on web, Excel, and system automation. It doesn’t yet support desktop UI automation or complex online documents (like Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 Online). If your workflow involves logging in to a website, please complete the login manually before starting the automation.
How AI Copilot Works
AI Copilot follows a clear, interactive process that takes you from idea to automation in just a few steps.
You start by describing what you want to automate using natural language. AI Copilot interprets your intent and presents a draft workflow for you to review. Once confirmed, it automatically builds and test-runs the process in real time, allowing you to see how your automation performs.
From there, you can keep chatting with AI to refine specific actions or add missing logic — an iterative process that helps you perfect the workflow step by step. When everything looks good, you simply click Apply to save and run the finished automation.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Open AI Copilot
To start using AI Copilot:
Launch the Octoparse AI client.
On the homepage, click New App.
Then click the AI Copilot icon in the top-right corner to enter the chat interface.
2. Describe Your Task
In the chat box, describe your automation task as clearly as possible. The more detailed your request, the better the result.
For example:
Create a workflow that scrapes the top 10 newest questions from https://stackoverflow.com/questions, extracting title, post content, votes, answers, and URL for each question.
Tip: For complex workflows, start broad and refine gradually — first describe the main goal, then add details in later prompts.

3. Generate and Test Your Workflow
After sending your prompt:
AI Copilot will first show a workflow outline for you to confirm.
Click Generate when you’re ready.
The AI will build and automatically test-run the workflow in real time.
Depending on the complexity, this may take a few seconds. Once the test completes, you can preview the results directly.
4. Review, Adjust, and Apply
After the workflow is generated:
Review all the steps and test results.
If something doesn’t work as expected, keep chatting with AI to refine it. For example: “Change the click target to the next button” or “Add wait time after page load.”
When everything looks good, click Apply to finalize and save your workflow.
5. Additional Tools in AI Copilot
Within the AI Copilot interface, you can:
Clear conversation: restart a new chat session with AI.
Check balance: view your remaining credits (each AI generation consumes credits).
Best Practices
To get the most accurate and useful workflows, keep these tips in mind:
Write clear, specific prompts. Avoid vague descriptions — include what to click, what to extract, or how to handle data.
Use iterative conversation. It’s normal to go through a few rounds of adjustment. Each iteration makes the workflow better.
Understand the feature’s focus. AI Copilot performs best for web, Excel, and file-based automation tasks.
