Downloading and installing the Octoparse AI client is your first step to using this powerful RPA tool—but many users hit snags here: interrupted downloads, error messages, blocked processes, and more. These issues can grind your workflow to a halt, but don’t worry. This guide breaks down the most common installation failures, explains why they happen, and gives you step-by-step fixes to get you up and running quickly.

First: Check Your System Requirements

Operating System:Win7/Win8/Win8.1/Win10(x64)

① Visit the Octoparse AI Install Center, download the Octoparse AI installation file (.exe), and get the latest version of the program.

② Double-click the .exe file to start the installation.

③ After the installation is complete, find the Octoparse AI shortcut in the Start menu or on the desktop.

Note: The installer will automatically check whether the components required by the software are installed. If not, it will automatically download and install them.

How to Fix Common Errors?

If the standard install fails, you’re likely facing one of these common issues. Let’s break down how to fix each one.

1. Error 0x80070490: Installation Wizard Fails (“Element Not Found”)

If .NET 4.8 is not installed or the installed .NET 4.8 has incomplete functions, the following error prompt usually appears: 0x80070490 - Element not found. (0x80070490 may also be other codes). At this time, the problem can be solved by manually installing .NET 4.8.

Solution: Download the offline installation package of the relevant components and install it manually.

Step 1: First, make sure your Windows 7 is SP1. If it is not SP1, please download the corresponding installation version and follow the prompts to proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Double-click "Install Certificate"

Step 3: Install the KB2813430 patch

Step 4: First restart the computer, then install .NET Framework 4.8 (all versions below 4.8 can be installed)

2. Error 0x80070643: Installation Wizard Fails (“Serious Error During Installation”)

This error has two main causes—here’s how to fix both:

Cause 1: Antivirus software is blocking the installation.

Fix: Check your background apps for running antivirus tools. Temporarily disable them (don’t forget to re-enable later!) and restart the Octoparse AI installer.

Cause 2: Microsoft Edge WebView2 component failed to install online.

Fix: Download the offline installer for the Microsoft Edge WebView2 component (use the provided link) and install it manually. Once done, retry the Octoparse AI installation.

3.Check your version

Open the Octoparse AI client, enter Settings, click About to check, and verify the currently installed version of Octoparse AI.
